BEAUTIFUL UGLY in the making...

Saturday, August 2, 2008

What people are saying...

"There is a quality on Melbourne duo Muph and Plutonic's third album that is all too rare in Australian hip hop: subtley.
This is the pair's finest record and possibly the years best hip hop album" EG, The Age

"The brilliant YESTERDAYS BASEMENT and SLEEP prove two of Australian Hip Hop's strongest, most understatedly poignant moments yet. A landmark album" The Mag

"The precision of Plutonic's production dosn't need any hype. Its quite simply world class, and the fact that he also plays bass, keys and drums on the album is accordingly impressive" Ozhiphop.com

"Album number three from this acclaimed Melbourne duo shows just how much Muph and Plutonic have grown into one of the countries premier hip hop acts" abc.net.au/triplej

"Well it's official Muph and Plutonic are the best hip hop act in Australia at the moment"
"13 tracks of soul, funk and reggae-tinged hip hop that sounds just as good via head phones as it does on a club PA" JMAG

citysearch.com.au review AND THEN TOMORROW CAME

"Muph and Plutonic are about to be the biggest hip hop act in the country. Proper big. Hilltop Hoods big. The pairing of (producer) Plutonic Lab and (MC) Muphin has been responsible for some of the best hip hop to emerge in this country. Having laid the groundwork with Hunger Pains (2004) and Silence the Sirens (2006), the pair's third album, And Then Tomorrow Came, is set to take them into a whole different league. The culmination of several years hard work and relentless touring, its release is being supported by a huge national tour.

Size of the Soul is the first single from the new album. Melding jazz horns with a laidback swagger, it's already picked up extensive airplay on Triple J. The rest of the album contains a rich blend of soul, funk and reggae tinged hip hop - all of it complimented perfectly by Muph's ridiculous tight flows.

Homegrown hip hop has grown at a phenomenal pace since the turn of the millennium and has finally broken through to the mainstream. And Then Tomorrow Came should help Muph and Plutonic take their rightful place alongside acts like The Herd and Hilltop Hoods at the top of the charts"

Muph And Plutonic
'...And Then Tomorrow Came'

Album number three from this acclaimed melbournian duo shows just how much Muph and Plutonic have grown into one of the countries premier hip hop acts! '...And Then Tomorrow Came' builds on their trademark down-tempo grooves and slick rhymes, while somehow turning up the hooks and making one heck of a catchy record.

…AND THEN TOMORROW CAME

National Album Tour Announced

‘...And Then Tomorrow Came’ is the career defining, highly anticipated 3rd full-length album from acclaimed Melbourne duo Muph & Plutonic, released on OBESE Records July 19, 2008. To celebrate the release, Muph & Plutonic announce their national tour through August, September & October.

‘...And Then Tomorrow Came’ sees Muph & Plutonic shine with a soulful clarity and maturity previously unheard on an Australian hip hop release.

In the last 18 months Muph & Plutonic have extensively toured taking in some of Australia’s premier music festivals including Big Day Out, Falls Festival, Golden Plains, Kiss My Grass, Pyramid Rock and Triple J’s ‘AWOL’ Karratha, WA gig, alongside Powderfinger and The Grates. The Obese Block Party in May 2008 was the introduction of the new Muph & Plutonic DJ, the one and only DJ Bonez – Muph & Plutonic’s set was a definite highlight on the tour – leaving audiences hollering for more!

...And Then Tomorrow Came is a rock solid album that showcases Muph & Plutonic’s versatility and prowess. Each track is handled with finesse that will carry over to live performances on their national tour throughout August, September and October.

Joining Muph & Plutonic with DJ Bonez on the Triple J presented tour will be special guests The Grouch and Eligh (in Melbourne and Sydney only) with more supports to be announced.
